Our pure beeswax candles are dipped by hand using an antique revolving candle stand and traditional early American methods. The candle stand holds a circle of 14 hoops called romaines. Each romaine is strung with wicking and dipped 25 to 30 times depending on the season of the year. A thicker coat of wax adheres to the wicking with each dip in colder weather. A white powder called bloom forms naturally on the surface of beeswax candles as they age. Made in upstate New York for us, our exclusive candles are all boxed in pairs.
