Susan Tooth, August 22, 1829

Frederick Myrick is the most famous scrimshander of the 19th century.  From 1826 to 1830, he was a member of the crew of the Nantucket whaler, "Susan", sailing to the far reaches of the earth.  To occupy himself during the tedious hours at sea between chores, he created a series of scrimshaw teeth that have since become legendary.  Part of the Nantucket Historical Association's collection these reproduction scrimshawed teeth are numbered, complete with named quarterboards and stands.  Measuring 2.5" H x 6" W x 2" D, they are boxed and made in New England.
